When Life Gives You Existential Dread Buy Bookmarks

Capitalism solves nothing, but looking at people’s bookish art makes me happy….

I have a confession to make that will surprise no one: I love bookmarks.

Another confession: I sometimes even use them! Although I’m also prone to using other strategies including, but not limited to:

  • trying to just remember the page
  • picking up any stray bit of paper like luggage tags, stickers, receipts, lists
  • balancing the book like a tent (which I don’t recommend)
  • putting another magazine or book inside the book, each holding each other’s place like a book mark sandwich
  • misplacing the book for a long enough period of time I decide to start over
  • using my Kindle so that the book holds its place for me

However, wouldn’t it be so nice to actually just, I don’t know, use something made for that purpose and support an artist in the process? Here’s a roundup of my Etsy wanderings–maybe you’ll find something that tucks your existential dread away for just a moment.

Probably not, but a woman can dream. And when she’s awake, she can continue reading.
